What is App a Day?

With i-touches, i-pads and i-phones becoming more popular, the apps are increasing in numbers too. With so many apps out there, how do you know what is good and what isn't. That is what I am hoping to help you with in this blog. If you have a suggestion of an app to share...please send me an email to jdief99@gmail.com.

After taking a year off with a new job...I have many apps to discuss. Follow me for at least 3 new apps at week.

Pottery Lite and Pottery HD

Are you interested in making pottery but can't afford a kiln and want to eliminate the mess? Then these apps are for you. These apps are fairly similiar but I ended up purchasing Pottery HD when it was on sale. With this app, you need to mold your pot, fire it, and then paint and decorate it. The more details you put in, the more money you will get for it at auction. The more money you have, the more colors and details you can purchase. Not a bad app for free!! If you choose to buy the HD version it will cost you $4.99.

Line Art and Tesla Toy

YES...all of my apps today relate to art class. I have been working with an art teacher at my school and since we found these apps...I thought I would share. Both Line Art and Tesla Toy are neat apps but Line Art is $1.99 and Tesla Toy is Free. In my opinion...Tesla Toy is the better out of the two. The apps have little moving electric worms swimming on the screen...but when your finger or fingers touch the screen...they are all attracted to your finger. Depending on where you touch and with how many finger...your design changes. Tesla Toy took Line Art ever further. It adds more designs and even more colors. They remind me of the static balls that you would touch and the lines would all come towards you hand. Because Tesla Toy is fairly new...I was not able to post a picture of that app.

Glow Doodle

With this app, you area able to draw neat pictures but by clicking the "glow" button...it will light them up as if they glow. This app is $0.99 but if your kids enjoy drawing...it is well worth it.

Art Of Glow

Art of Glow is a FREE app which lets your creative side show. As you draw your pictures...your lines will continue to keep your picture moving even when you are done drawing. You can modify your drawing options using the tools in the bottom right hand corner.

Spin Art

Do you remember when we had a spinning table and paint...and as the table was spinning, you would let one drop of paint fall on your page and it would make a nice splatter design (and also a big mess)? Well, this is the same art project without the mess and it's FREE. First, tap the star and pick new. There are 6 free shapes for you to pick from. Once you have selected one, click next and you can select what color paper. Next, click on the arrow button and spin your page with your finger. Now that it is spinning, click on the paint brush and paint away. The color my daughter loves the most is the rainbow on the far right. Make sure you try using glitter too. When you are finished, click on the star again to save your project.
